Getting married in 7 months!

I can't believe that I am getting married in 7 months!! 7 months from today, I will finally be a Mrs!! Woo-hoooooooo. Also, I am officially past the half way point of my engagement. The last 7 months flew by, I can only image how quickly the next seven months will fly buy.

In order to help me deal with all the upcoming stress, I started a Bridesmaid Newsletter. Since none of my 'maids live in NYC, and I really want them to feel involved, I thought this would be a great outlet for me! As a control freak, I also need to learn to delegate and I know I'll need their help (and support) over the next few months!

I really love all my bridesmaids and I'm so super excited about partying in Costa Rica together next year...um I mean getting married :D

eff U-P-S

I hate UPS! It turns out that I am on the 2-5 segment of the UPS route, which is actually perfect because I ONLY have class from 250 - 630 and work from 230-5. Argh! Even better, the UPS guy NEVER gets here between 2-230 its always like 2:37. Just late enough that I don't seem him on the street but close enough to 230 to drive me INSANE!

I've been waiting quite impatiently for my Piperlime order (Badgley Miscka Shoes) and my bridesmaids' dresses. I am not entirely sure why I wait when I know that I won't get them. So I finally decided to make the hike up to the Bronx to pick up the packages on my own.

Luckily I don't live that far from the Bronx but it still required a cross town bus into East Harlem, and a train ride up into the Bronx. Then I wondered aimless around until a kind gentleman said, "UPS? Down that way."

So after numerous angry emails, stern phone calls and one trip to the UPS Customer "Service" Center in the Bronx, I finally have my shoes and the bridesmaids' dress!

I am not entirely sure I love these shoes more than the other ones. I don't know, what do you think? I may have built them up to much in my mind. Plus I have never been a huge strappy shoe person, I love they way they look on other people but I think they make my ankles look huge, my feet look wide and my toes are all splayed out over the edge.

I have not opened the bridesmaids dresses because I wanted to ask permission first! Once I talk to them I'll be sure to post an update.

Bridesmaids' dresses!!

{ModCloth}

I stumbled across this gorgeous dress on ModCloth last week. I kind of fell in love with it and although I decided awhile ago to let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses, I decided we should try to get this one instead! So I recognize that its pretty low in the front and pretty low in the back but is so super cute and all my bridesmaids could definitely pull it off! Plus I think it will look great on a beach with no shoes and hot with good jewelry and a pair of hot heels for the evening reception.

I ordered a few so that they can try them on and we'll see how it goes! Keeping my fingers crossed!

DIY: Bridesmaid Invitations

So this was my very first completed DIY project... It took almost 5 months to complete! To be fair I did it in three parts and I had to wait for all my bridesmaids to receive them before I could blog about it so here it is:

PART I:

Supplies:
* 6 pink tank tops with lace detail from Forever 21 - $6.50 each
* 1 white tank top for ME!
* Fabric Puff Paint - Light Pink, Medium Pink and Silver - Free (a gift from my MOH)
* Printed Templates (which I just printed on my computer)

Then we (my MOH) slid the template under the shirt and traced the text with the puff paint! (We actually did a bunch of test runs and discovered that she was much more consistent than I was so we decided it would be best for her to do them :D )

We just put them in the window to dry. It takes about four hours for puff paint to dry completely.

This is the bride one... light pink on white.

We did my MOH's in silver on pink. We were going to write "Maid of Honor" on it but decided that would be way too difficult. At that point "we" had already done 6 so we were also pretty burnt out.

Part II:

These are the flowers I posted about a while back... which I attached to the tanks!

This one is mine! The paint leaked into the shirt a little and I am not quite sure why. It didn't do it on any of the other shirts.

This is my fabulous Maid of Honor's!

Here are the bridesmaids! I put the flowers in different places so that each one is a little different.

PART III:

I printed these "Will you be my bridesmaid" templates from Wedding Chicks and then cut them into little tags and just hole punched them.

Then I just wrapped a tagged each one!

DONE!

Just took 4.5 months... on to my next project!

My wonderful, beautiful, highly intelligent baby sister (and bridesmaid) sent me a link to Lulu's a few days ago. Lulu's is another great online store that does budget conscious dresses. So I thought I'd do a general bridesmaids dress search... its so hard to know how good a dress will look (1)in a set of 5 or 6 and (2) next to my wedding dress... but here are the dresses I kind of liked:
1. Whole Lotta Punch Dress $52.00
2. Shock Me Like an Electric Eel $34.00
3. French Toast Tuesday Dress $38.00
4. Peaches and Creams Dress $87.00

1. Luminous Lady Dress $37.00
2. Rabbit Run Strapless Dress $70.00
3. Daisy Ruffle Dress by Dick and Mo $62.00
4. Ballad of the Sea Dress $57.00 (This dress is also available on Ruche for $67.99!!)

They also have a dress that looks a lot like the dress I posted about yesterday. Thanks sis!!

I saw these cute bridesmaids dresses on Style Me Pretty and thought I should check out Top Shop. It seems to be another England-based online store much like ASOS, which I love even though I haven't had much luck with my orders.

The dresses in the picture weren't available anymore (BOO) but here are some of the dresses I though might make good bridesmaids dresses:

1. Pinafore Dress by Love $60
2. Juliet Ruffle Dress by Yuki $110.00
3. Pleated Dress by Rare $76.00
4.Ruffle Dress by Love $76.00

Bridesmaids Dresses: To match or not to match...

I am so torn about bridesmaids dresses. I really love the look of matching dresses but I love the idea of letting my bridesmaids pick their own dresses. I assume bridesmaids would prefer to pick their own dresses but maybe that's more work than its worth...especially if the bride has a specific color or style in mind.

Ultimately, I think I'm really falling in love with the idea of printed or patterned bridesmaids dresses. They are just so much fun and still look really put together.

More and more I find myself LOVING gray bridesmaids dresses. How amazing our these dresses.

Inspiration: Bridesmaids Dresses {ASOS}

One: I am done with finals!!!

Two: It's summer!

Three: SHOPPPPING!!!

While I was at the law school the other day I saw this gorgeous little 1L in an amazing maxi dress. It was a halter with a deep V in the front, a kind of ridiculously low back, and the most spectacular summer print.

Since then I have been on a hunt to find a similar dress for myself... although I haven't found the perfect maxi dress, I DID find ASOS!

ASOS is a UK based online shopping website, and shipping is only $6!!! I saw these gorgeous pink dresses and almost melted. The best part is that they are super affordable... ALL these dresses are less than $100.

I obviously couldn't just look at bridesmaids dresses, especially because my e-session is only 10 days away!
I obviously went straight for the floral dresses. I love floral dresses. There is nothing more spring and more lovely than a gorgeous floral dress.

These are some of my very very favorites.

They even have an amazing selection of shoes, jewelry and accessories... I'm in retail love ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I plan to make my first purchase tomorrow and hopefully everything will go smoothly. I am not particularly tolerate of bad sales practices or slow delivery times. When I order something I want it in the mail and at my front door ASAP! I also do not believe in retail second chances.

Project Wedding

There was a time when I was obsessed with Project Runway. I haven't watched it in awhile but recently I stumbled on the etsy store of Season 6 designer Carol Hannah! On the show she was always criticized for only making dresses but her dresses were so amazing that I certainly wasn't complaining.

Here are some of my favorites from the show! I especially love this little black cocktail dress.

Now Carol Hannah is making wedding dresses!! Yay! Her dresses were recently featured on ruffled.

Here are some of my personal favorites.

She even makes bridesmaids' dresses :)
