Better than a black and white cookie

In honor of my own biracial nuptials I knew I had to put this wedding on my blog. Although the wedding isn't really my style, the bride is gorgeous, and the pictures are amazing!!!

Enjoy

Manhattan Beach Wedding

My FF was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California. The second I saw this wedding I knew it was in Manhattan Beach and it made me wonder if perhaps I should consider having the wedding there. I love this bride's dress and the simple elegance of this wedding.

Another Marivmon Wedding!

Recently I posted about Marivmon, a location I'm considering in Downtown LA. Today I stumbled upon this wedding on GWS.

If you don't already know this about me, I loooooooooove brunch!!!! I really really really want to have a morning wedding so that I can have the most amazing brunch with all my friends and family in full wedding attire (more on that later). The point is, I love this wedding because it shows a great way to brighten up Marivmon for a daytime wedding.

A few weeks ago I was watching an old episode of Cake Boss which featured wedding cakes covered in white anemones. I didn't really love them when I was watching the show but in this wedding they are SOOOO perfect with the bride's dress.

Locations: California.love

I've decided I need to get serious about my location hunt. If I want to have a carefree semester in Amsterdam then I need to have most of my wedding plans set in stone by January.

(that gives me 8-9 months)

So here's my first real consideration....

Last night I showed my FF images from this A-MAZING location in California that I kind of fell in love with. I think it has so much personality and
I love all the gorgeous little details but I can't decide if its our "style."

{More great images from Marivmon}

Here our some pictures I found from a real wedding at Marivmon.

Locations: Califonia.love #2

Even though we haven't made any decisions about where to have the wedding, California is definitely on the top 5 list. I LOVE to look at new locations and imagine the kind of wedding that would take place. A few days ago a good friend sent me a link to one of her dream wedding locations. (Thanks JH!!) Post Ranch Inn is a luxury resort located on the cliffs of Big Sur, California. Here are some of the amazing photos from their website:

Here's another California location that exudes style. Hummingbird Nest Ranch is a equestrian facility located just 30 minutes north of West Los Angeles. I love all the images of the fountain, the Spanish feel of this location and the gorgeous mountains in the background. However, since my future hubbie was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, I don't know that we could get married in California and not have the ocean involved. We also met on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and got engaged on a beach in the Dominican Republic... It just wouldn't be right to start the next stage of our life away from the ocean.***

So lets be honest... we couldn't afford either of these places unless we only had 20 guests and only half of them got to eat... hehehe.

***obiter dictum: If you want to have more than 50 people to your beach wedding, the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors requires $150 permits to hold a wedding near a lifeguard station. An additional 15% of vendors fees (which includes florists, rental companies, and photographers) goes to the county as well. The Department may also require that you acquire a $1 million liability insurance policy, which will cost around $100. Additionally if you wish to have music you need to contact the local police department for a sound permit.
