Stage 1:
{12+ Months Prior}
When’s the big day? Time to set your date! DONE! May 21, 2011

What will your wedding look and feel like? Set the color scheme and theme! Done (in theory)
Who’s footing the bill for this lavish day? Set the budget! DONE
Which fabulous people will you invite? Compile the guest list. DONE!
Who will be in your wedding party? Time to officially ask your friends and family to be a part of the wedding! DONE! Asked and answered!
Who’s giving your engagement party? Set the date and celebrate your engagement! No time for an engagement party :(
Where will the wedding be held? Book your venues! Booked! Punto De Vista. Costa Rica!
How will you cherish the memories after the day has ended? Book your photographer! DONE! Julie Comfort of Comfort Studios!

Stage 2:
{9-11 Months Prior}
Send out your save-the-date cards. SENT in October!
Will you share your wedding online? Design your wedding web page! DONE!
Are you getting hungry? Book your caterer.
Who will lead your ceremony? Book your officiant.
Do you want to dance all night? Book your live music and your DJ.
Will your wedding be in full bloom? Book your florist.
Is this day available in HD? Book your videographer. DONE. Well Spun Weddings
Can you say couture? Buy your wedding gown. DONE! Should be in in Dec!
Do you accept the challenge of finding a dress your friends can wear again? Purchase your bridesmaids dresses. DONE!!

Stage 3:
{6-8 Months Prior}
Chicken or beef? Determine your menu.
Did somebody say butter-cream frosting? Book your cake baker.
Who’s driving? Book your transportation.
What will play as your walk down the aisle? Book your ceremony musicians.
What is your return policy? Register for your gifts.
This moment won’t last forever! Take your engagement photos. DONE!!

Stage 4:

{4-5 Months Prior}
Where will you recuperate? Book your honeymoon.
Powder blue is not an option! Rent or buy formalwear. Bought-en :P
Decisions, decisions! Order your invitations.
You’ll give what ring? Pick out the rings. MINE is done... need DAVES!
How’s your penmanship? Hire your calligrapher (if using).
Will you need any extras? Reserve all rental equipment.

Stage 5:
{3 Months Prior}
Check it twice! Address invitations.
Who will fill the odd jobs on your day? Appoint ushers and other ceremony helpers.
You’ll need hair and make-up to match the dress! Book your hair and make-up artists.
Accessorize!! Purchase all accessories for bridal party.
The last meal as a single girl! Finalize rehearsal dinner details.

Stage 6:
{2 Months Prior}
Make sure you purchase the right amount of postage! Mail out your invites.
Will you write your own vows or be more traditional? Discuss your vows.
Who will you say “thank you” to at the rehearsal dinner? Purchase gifts for attendants and family.
Do you have guests coming from out of town? Order welcome baskets.
Are you giving favors? Order favors.
What is missing for your ceremony? Purchase ceremony accessories: flower girl basket, ring pillow, unity candle, etc.

Stage 7:
{1 Month Prior}
Does it fit like a glove? Have your final gown fitting.
It’s party time! Have your wedding shower and/or bachelor/bachelorette party.
Is everything on target for your décor? Finalize your floral proposal.
Is this just a party or are you actually wanting to be legally joined? Apply for marriage license.

Stage 8:
{2 - 4 Weeks}
Even though you made it very easy on them... Call guests who haven’t RSVP’d.
What happens if you get lipstick on your dress? Be sure to have a day-of emergency kit.
Who is running the show? Determine the Master Timeline for the day-of.
Do your bridal attendants know what is in store for them? Determine day-of assignments for the bridal party.
Where will everyone sit? Finalize seating chart and send it to the reception venue.
Do you know when the cake is being delivered? Check in with all vendors and confirm details.
Let’s have a packaging party! Assemble and package favors.

FINAL COUNTDOWN:

Finally, the guys have a job to do! Final fitting and pick-up formal wear.
Let’s eat! Have your rehearsal dinner.
Does the limo know when to arrive? Finalize transportation details.
What will you need for Cabo? Pack for your honeymoon.
Do you expect your wedding vendors to go above and beyond for you? Set aside tips for your vendors.

Then... sit back, relax, and get married!!
