Barrister Bride to Be

I don't do this that often but I just wanted to spread a little love and say thanks to a fellow barrister BTB. I have a fabulous friend, J, who was the genius behind Barrister Bride and she not so long ago had her own e-pics taken so I just wanted to share these gorgeous pictures with you and show her photographer Joe Elario a little love!

All photos courtesy of Joe Elario

If you head over to his website you'll see that he's having a contest for the best engagement session of the year and J has been nominated. So if you love the photos as much as I do, you should vote for her!

Happy Saturday ladies!

More Engagement Photos...

We got the rest of our engagement photos!!! So I obviously had to share some of my favorites. I love this shot because it makes my legs look in this photo and I think its a great shot of my favorite pair of shoes!

This picture was a tough one to pull off because I have no control over my facial muscles and tend to get really giggly.

The story behind the rose is that it was a valentine's day present two years ago. My FF is a very anti-valentine's day person and wanted to do something unique. Something a little different from the traditional dozen red roses or box of chocolates. We were living in Thailand at the time and I had to work all day so he had me meet him on the SkyTrain platform after work. When I got to the platform I saw him standing behind this huge rose! I named her "Orchid Valentine" and hand carried her all the way to New York City.

How amazing is the sky in this one!! I was so worried that the clouds would make all the shots look super gloomy but I think it turned out amazing.

E-Photos Sneak Peek

We haven't gotten our photos back but here are a few of them which were posted on erin's blog. I was a little worried that it would look super cloudy and gross but the sky actually looks pretty amazing.

Inspiration: The Notebook??

As many of you know, I took my engagement photos a few weeks ago. We went out to a beach near Fort Tilden which took over an hour to get to, but was SO worth the drive. It was suppose to rain all day but we were lucky enough to miss the rain. It was super overcast, which turned out to be amazing because we had the whole beach to ourselves. Unfortunately it was also a little chilly so I couldn't wear the cute dress I had planned and had to wear jeans :( But Erin (our lovely pho-tog) was great and it ended up being a really fun afternoon!

We haven't gotten our pictures back, but when I saw these e-photos I knew I would have to post them. The remind me so much of that scene from the Notebook, which is one of my personal favorite movies. The mood of the photos also reminds me of our own e-session.

I love the feel of these photos. I can't wait until my photos come in! I promise I will share them as soon as I get them :D

Real Bride: Engagement Photos

I adore this iphone photo! I am going to pretend I would have thought of it but I am definitely not that crafty.

These are some A-MAZING engagement photos from the recent e-session of a fellow barrister bride-to-be... in fact, she is the b2b that inspired me to start this blog!!

Eli Turner is the D.C. based photographer who made this adorable-ness possible.

Engagement Inspiration 101

Our engagement photos are still a month away but since I'm in need of a major distraction I thought I would start looking at engagement sessions for some inspiration.

It seems like the 4 four major decisions are:
1. Location
2. Attire (Him and Her)
3. Props
4. Practicality (what are you going to use the photos for?)

I haven't made any decisions but here are some of the engagement shoots that I really adore.

You Can't Win Them All

About 3 weeks ago I was on TWC and stumbled upon a deal I couldn't pass up. Erin Wigger was offering 5 lucky couples a $50 engagement photo session. I registered, like I do for dozens of contest and giveaways a week, but this time I won!
