I ♥ Succulents

I spent last Thanksgiving in LA with my FF's amazing family. The weather was amazing. We spent Thanksgiving morning on the beach...and even saw dolphins!!

The day after Thanksgiving his parents took us to a park they love on Muholland Drive and on the way back we stopped at Trump National Golf Course and Terranea. While I was there I kind of fell in love with the succulents growing everywhere. Since then I bought two of my very own, Culpepper and Rosemary (yes, I still name all my possessions).

I also made a mental note about having succulents at my wedding. At that time I wasn't reading wedding blogs yet so I didn't really have a sense of what it would look like but I thought it could be amazing. It turns out a lot of people share my love for succulents.

Succulents are also great because they are eco-friendly alternative to cut flowers that can be used everywhere flowers are used. The best thing about succulent bouquets is, they can be replanted and kept as an amazing reminder of your big day! Here are some of my favorite succulent-filled weddings!

Project Wedding

There was a time when I was obsessed with Project Runway. I haven't watched it in awhile but recently I stumbled on the etsy store of Season 6 designer Carol Hannah! On the show she was always criticized for only making dresses but her dresses were so amazing that I certainly wasn't complaining.

Here are some of my favorites from the show! I especially love this little black cocktail dress.

Now Carol Hannah is making wedding dresses!! Yay! Her dresses were recently featured on ruffled.

Here are some of my personal favorites.

She even makes bridesmaids' dresses :)

Take it or leave it

The wedding chicks have a number of really cute FREE templates. I was playing around with these vintage monograms when I began thinking... am I really going to take my FF's name?

I kind of like my name... but I kind of like the idea of being a "Mrs". More importantly, I don't think it sounds right. We've talked about the hyphenated last name but its definitely not the same.

Let them eat cake

One of the things about finals is, it makes me want to bake. I have recently toyed with the idea of making my own wedding cake. I know it sounds ridiculous but it also sounds amazing!I've never worked with fondant but I think that once finals are over I'm gonna do a few test runs and see how they go.

I really want a simple cake for my own wedding but sometimes I see a cake that makes me want to reconsider.

Oh by the way, in case you forgot, it turns out I like pink!

Candy bar vs. Open bar

I had a paper due today at 5pm, which is DONE :D so I haven't been blogging all weekend. Now that it's done I had to take a sneak peek at all the things I've missed. So it turns out candy bars are the big thing...

While I LOVE candy (I am currently eating a butterfinger),I think that I love alcohol more (I am also currently drinking a beer.... please don't judge me). I also think that my guest would also prefer an open bar to a candy bar. Here's the catch: my FF doesn't drink and perhaps it isn't fair to have things at our wedding that we can't both enjoy.

Could use a hug...

Today I was notified that my "dream" location in Costa Rica is booked over the entire winter break. For some reason I found this news particularly heart breaking. I know that wedding planning isn't suppose to be easy but...

So if we don't get married in Costa Rica over winter break this may mean moving the wedding to August 2011. Major BOOOOOO! I suppose we could change the location or the date... sigh. More decisions.

Shortly after I came to terms with the fact that I wouldn't be having my wedding at my "dream" location this December, I got a anxiety-inducing email from a professor. The email stated that a mistake had been made regarding the due date for our seminar paper...the due date is now May 6th instead of May 13th!

Before this change I had an a-mazing schedule:
* April 26 5pm 25 pg Paper Due
* May 7 10 am Evidence Final
* May 13 5pm 20 pg Paper Due

The good news is, my semester will end a week earlier. The bad news is, my semester will end a week earlier.

I know that it'll get done. I know it'll be fine. This doesn't change the fact that I could use a hug!

And they called it puppy loooove...

This is my ring bearer. (Isn't this an amazing picture. He really loves to give kisses.)

His name is Bourbon Thomas Monroe III. I know that's a lot of name for such a small dog. At 4.5 lbs, he is the cutest 6-year-old I know!

He is the other love of my life and has been for many years. He was the man that laid in bed with me when I was at my worst. He spent every minute by my side during Hurricane Katrina and cried softly in my lap on the plane home. It only seems right that he would stand by my side on the biggest day of my life.

Here are some other people who love their puppies as much as I do!
