DIY: Chandelier Part 2

Last week, I blogged about not being able to find a good DIY chandelier tutorial but then I stumbled across this little tutorial on Craft Stylish.

While I think this may involve much much more manual labor than I am up for, I really like the paper crystals. I feel like these could be cool if you did strings of silver and white paper crystals and some strings of tissue paper flowers... that could be kind of pretty blowing in the wind, right?

Surf Board Love

I'm not a surfer so I think it would be a little ridiculous to have a "surf" wedding but there's something about a casual beachside surf wedding that always catches my eye every time. This wedding is particularly special because the FF and I were just talking about having a bonfire on the beach at our wedding!

It seems like all the good ideas are taken... sigh. Well it's still an adorable wedding with another stunning couple.

Surf & Style

When I was talking to my wedding planner yesterday she asked me how I would describe our couple style. I told her that our wedding would be a combination of his laid back surfer style and my affinity for vintage romance. This wedding comes pretty close to striking that balance... I would probably do a little more lace and a little softer colors for my own wedding. Also you may not be able to tell but this couple is ADORABLE!! Regardless... enjoy!

Wedding Planner: Costa Rica

I found an amazing wedding planner. There is still A LOT to figure out but she seems amazing. By that I mean, she responded promptly to my email, included a clear list of her services, clearly explained the wedding planning process, and provided specific examples to illustrate her points. All these things make a type-A (former teacher) bride happy. :D

Her name is Larissa. Here is one of her weddings which was recently featured on Style Me Pretty.

Here are some images from her website.

Location: Costa Rica?

We are still having the hardest time pinning down a location. However, my FF loves Costa Rica and we were just there last January so this morning discussed the possibility of getting married in Costa Rica. It seems like an obvious choice as far as destination weddings go.

Once it was out there I obviously had to start making plans so I spent the morning emailing Costa Rican Wedding Planners.I made it clear that I don't have a date, a guest count or a theme. All I know is that I want to rent a villa with:
1. a beach front
2. With a green space to get married
3. Outdoor dinning
4. Room for the bridal party
5. A Pool
6. A full kitchen

Yup, that's all! Despite my laundry list of requirements one of the planners sent me a number of amazing suggestions. This one is our very, very favorite:

How amazing would this location be! It looks amazingly photogenic, and has everything we want!

The hard part is figuring out the date but I LOOOVE this location. Pura Vida!

Real Wedding: Hawa'ii

My FF was raised in a beach town. He loves to surf. He loves all things ocean related.

Growing up, I lived in Indonesia. There were no blond-haired, blue-eyed surfers in those parts. He was the boy I saw on tv. Much like the cowboy or the astronaut, the surfer was this intriguing being that existed in a far off land.

Now the surfer is the boy I am going to marry. From the blonde hair to the blue eyes, I get to study this intriguing being up close.

Here's the problem: I am terrified of the ocean.

This next wedding photo featured on 100 layer cake makes me think I need to just get over it. How amazing is this photo?!?!?
